Seriously, what the hell?! (Part II)

I spent much of my day off today just catching up on things I wanted to do. Just hang out with friends, have some lunch and catch a movie, etc. I caught up with my parents afterward and tagged along with them because they were going to go to the PX on Fort Hood. Hey, things are cheaper and no tax..good, right? Anyway, I ride with them in their SUV because I don't have those military stickers on my car. They decide to get gas somewhere on post first, since it's pretty much cheaper than outside the base (or post...whatever). $2.61/gallon for regular as opposed to $2.99/gallon elsewhere. Turned out EVERYONE had the same idea.

I think there are four gas stations on post and drove by all of them. It was the same thing at each gas station; Cars lined up coming from 4 different directions, waiting forever just to get gas; a few idiots who try to cut through and end up pissing everyone else off; and a few MPs around to maintain order. Sidenote- seriously, now. MPs? Yeah, their authority really scares me. *rolls eyes*

So this is pretty much the breakdown of what happened:
2:15 pm Arrive at the gas station and wait in a huge disorganized cluster of cars for gas
2:45 pm Waiting
3:00 pm Still waiting
3:25 pm Finally get to pump gas; about 10 gallons (1/2 tank)
3:40 pm Finished pumping the 10 gallons. Fifteen minutes for something that would have taken 3 minutes. It was like that everywhere.

My parents must seriously have some major patience. If it was me driving my car, I'd be putting that car in reverse and getting the gas elsewhere, I don't care what price.
