I decided to search around Myspace for people I went to grade/middle/high school or college with. Out of boredom, of course. It felt a tad stalker-ish, but that's beside the point. I came across a myspace page with some guy as the frontman for some band. I'm thinking, "Who did I know who is most likely to be the lead singer of some rock band?" A few people, but I wasn't so sure. I'm skimming through the profile trying to find clues as to a possible identity (yeah, I told you it felt a little stalker-ish). Then I came across something that mentioned his screenname/e-mail addy and then it clicked. Same e-mail addy/screen name of someone I went to high school with, who also happened to be one of several of us who decided to go to UT for college. I went to HS in Aggie-land, so a bunch migrated to College Station. Anyway, I used to run into him a lot during our freshman and soph. years at UT. I'm browsing through the pictures (does not equal stalker behavior), and I'm just surprised.

What happened to this kid? It's like he just all of a sudden became hot. In high school, he was the nerdy kid who was in the same honors/AP classes I was in. The kid who was in choir. The kid who sat next to me and would sing to me. The kid I forged excuse notes for. The skinny, lanky kid with glasses. He still looked like that during our freshman and sophomore years at UT. I didn't see him much after that. And now four years later, he's cute, not nerdy-looking, and singing lead in a band. As for me, I'm a RN who still gets mistaken for looking like a sixteen year old, no matter how I change my look. Time. Can't explain it.
